Another Forgotten Women Friday - call for volunteers

Writer's picture: Janet FewJanet Few

Our sixth Forgotten Women Friday is on 30 August. You can find out how these collective research days work here. This time, the chosen institutions for the day are the Asylum for the Education of Deaf and Dumb Children of the Poor, which was later known as The Royal School for Deaf Children Margate, Kent and The West of England Institution for the Deaf and Dumb, Exeter, Devon. We have already added a great deal of background information about these institutions to our website. You can also read the first story, that of Jessie Hannah Smith of Margate, on the same page.

If you would like to help us tell the stories of these pupils, please contact us and we will add you to our list of volunteers.
